Dear Daughter

A Mother’s Day card, a Daughter’s Day card (yes, it is a thing). This card was born from pain, but turned to something beautiful. Inspired by the story of Sojourner Truth and her mother, Elizabeth, Dear Daughter illustrates the moment a mother pointed to the stars. Reminding Sojourner that despite each of her children being separated from her and from each other, they were all united under the same stars.

The details

Each Femi card is an original painting, printed on heavyweight linen stock. Finished size is 3.5” x 4.875” (A1), small on purpose. Made to travel by mail or hand straight to someone you love, each one comes paired with a matching kraft envelope.

Every card carries the signature of founder and artist Asha Flowers-Wright on the back. Above it, a small logo in periwinkle or marigold corresponds to the card’s palette. There, you’ll also find the etymology behind our name: Femi, Yoruba for love me.
